A precautionary boil water advisory has been issued due to a main water line break for customers in Milton who live on Coopers Bottom Road and Riverview Drive who were without water or had low water pressure.
Although no contamination has been confirmed we recommend that when your water service resumes that you: Bring all water to a rolling boil, let it boil for three minutes and let it cool before using, or use bottled water. Boiled or bottled water should be used for drinking, making ice, brushing teeth, washing dishes and food preparation until further notice. Boiling kills bacteria and other organisms in the water.
Milton Water has issued an apology for any inconvenience this may cause. This advisory is being issued as a precautionary action and will be lifted with the approval of the Kentucky Division of Water. When all appropriate laboratory testing is completed and the Kentucky Division of Water allows the company to lift the advisory the public will be notified when you no longer need to boil water. If you have questions or need additional information, call 502-268-5223.
