Betty Marie Perry, 85, Louisville, formerly of Trimble County, died Sunday, Sept. 21, 2008.
Born Betty Marie Herr In Shamokin, Penna., she moved to Trimble County when she was 15. She graduated from Trimble County High School in 1940 and attended Eastern Kentucky State Teacher’s College 1940-1942 where she studied commerce and general business. She acquired an emergency teaching certificate to return home to teach at her alma mater during World War II. She and her husband, Joseph Robert Perry, moved to Louisville in 1950, where they were longtime residents of Parkway Village. She was a member of Audubon Baptist church since 1953, where she taught Sunday school and Vacation Bible School. She was an active member of the Audubon Elementary School PTA and a former room mother for 20 years.
Survivors include her children, Joseph David (Jerry) Perry, Donna Marie (Jerry) Wesbecker, Denise Joann (Chuck) Anderson, all of Louisville, Mark Douglas (Dorothy) Perry, Dayton Ohio; grandchildren, Shannon Leah Perry (Darrell) Miller, Elizabeth Ann Perry (Ryan) Finley, Mark Jacob Anderson and Claire Elise Anderson; and great-grandchildren, Isabella Grace Finley and Cameron Miller.
Her husband of 50 years, parents, Frank Monroe Herr and Bessie Stanley Herr, sisters, Lena Frances Herr Craig and Elizabeth Hudson Bennett, and a brother, Harold Herr preceded her in death.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 25, 2008 at Embry-Bosse Funeral Home, 2723 Preston Highway, Louisville. Burial will be in Bedford I.O.O.F Cemetery.
Visitation is today, Wednesday, Sept. 24, from 1-8 p.m.
Memorial gifts may be made to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, American Heart Association, or Audubon Baptist Church Building Fund.
Embry-Bosse Funeral Home in Louisville was in charge of arrangements.
