Editor:
All citizens and members of the community are reminded that it is the time of the year when the Bedford Volunteer Fire & Rescue Department is asking for your help with yearly subscriptions. These subscriptions are used to fund the department with utilities, training, fuel, equipment, maintenance of building and equipment, and other needs to serve the community in the Bedford Fire District.
Despite the decline of the economy and the rising cost of living, the subscription fee remains the same at $35 as it has for many years. The subscriptions are very important to the department due to the rising cost of operation. If you live in the city limits of Bedford your subscription has already been paid by the city. However, we will accept any and all donations. This subscription covers per deeded property only. In the event of an automotive accident it will be billed separately. Deadline for subscription is March 31 annually.
We are also selling 911 address signs. You may have seen these while out driving in the community. These are green, reflective signs with your house number close to the road to help find you in the event of an emergency. This helps all services including Fire, EMS, Police, etc. We sell these for $10. The price includes us coming out and putting up the sign for you.
Notices have been sent by mail. If anyone has not received one, please feel free to leave us a message at 255-7529 or you can email me directly at asstchiefwright@gmail.com.
Thanks you!

Assistant Chief
