Trimble County Emergency Search Unit held its fall training at Avalon nature reserve on Saturday, Oct 17, with 17 members attending. During the event, members practiced the Wilderness First Aid and had a mock nighttime search.

Instant command was set up, with two teams going out and looking for two lost subjects. One subject could walk out; the other was injured and had to be carried out on a back board.

After debriefing, the members enjoyed a chili dinner and had a nice discussion around the campfire. Trimble County Emergency Management Director Ronnie McCane observed the teams’ performance.

TCESU would like to thank those who helped with the chili dinner and extend special thanks to Avalon for letting us train there.
